My interest in international education began with an intensive Japanese class that I took after a year of struggling through science classes to follow in my parents' footsteps and become a doctor. Changing my major and a year studying abroad in Kyoto, Japan changed me into who I am today.

The experience in Japan that my university provided me with led me to an internship in international student services, a summer studying abroad again in South Korea, an active role in AIESEC sending students on internships overseas, and a job teaching English at elementary schools in Japan for four and a half years.

I now have friends across oceans and more than one place I can call home, and with my recent MA in International Education Management I hope I can work to make better or provide for others the same kind of international experiences I had that brought me to where I am today. I believe that language opens doors, and exchange leads to unparalleled personal growth, perspective, connections, a smaller world, and a better, more peaceful and understanding world for everyone.
